Day 1: Healthcare
Dr. Martin Gibala
Dr. Martin Gibala is a professor of kinesiology at McMaster University, whose influential research examines the integrative physiology of exercise at the molecular to whole body level. Dr. Gibala has also coauthored a bestselling book on the science of time-efficient exercise, The One-Minute Workout: Science Shows a Way to Get Fit That’s Smarter, Faster, Shorter.
Dr. Giulio DiDiodato
Dr. Giulio DiDiodato is a critical care physician who specializes in the treatment of infectious diseases. Dr. DiDiodato leads the Canadian Treatments for COVID-19 or ‘CATCO’ study at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. Dr. DiDiodato has additionally conducted important clinical research in various fields, including patient safety and the efficacy of various medical interventions.
Dr. Gillian Goward
Dr. Gillian Goward is a professor of chemistry and chemical biology at McMaster University, whose research focuses on electrochemistry. Dr. Goward’s research includes the study of materials of interest as chemical power sources of great pertinence to PEM-proton exchange membrane fuel cells and lithium ion batteries, a rapidly growing field of study.

Michelle Reyes is a Community and Campus Manager for Geotab, leading the global student program at Geotab. Geotab is a global leader in the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected vehicles, connecting commercial vehicles to the internet, providing web-based analytics for fleet management.
Day 2: Technology
Sabina Martin
Sabina Martin is a senior product manager at Geotab, managing solutions engineering. Geotab is a global leader in the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected vehicles, connecting commercial vehicles to the internet, providing web-based analytics for fleet management.
Fadi Bahodi
Mr. Fadi Bahodi is the Founder and Co-Executive Director of WebStraw and a medical student at McMaster University. WebStraw is one of the largest open-access nonprofits in North America, creating free, high-quality educational resources, partnered with IBM and Microsoft.
Drew Gibson
Drew Gibson is a senior infrastructure engineer at CIBC in Toronto, working as a lead for the cloud engineering team to help build out foundational features and functionality necessary to drive the Azure Cloud across the CIBC.
Dr. Joanne Atlee
Dr. Joanne Atlee is a professor at the Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo and the Director of Women in Computer Science. Focusing on modelling software, detecting, resolving and managing feature interactions, Dr. Atlee’s work is influential, benefitting feature-rich systems, systems-of-systems and the Internet of Things (IoT). Dr. Atlee is an AMC Distinguished Scientist (2016) and SRI International Fellow (1999), and has worked with a number of industrial partners including IBM and GM Canada.
Day 3: Science
Dr. Philip Britz-McKibbin
Dr. Philip Britz-McKibbin is a Cystic Fibrosis Canada Researcher and a Professor at McMaster University in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, and an affiliate member of the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine. Dr. Britz-McKibbin is involved in various innovative collaborative research products whose results have strong implications in clinical medicine and public health.
Dr. Brad Bass
Dr. Brad Bass is the founder and director of the University Research Experience with Complex Systems, the Associate Executive Director of the Foundation of Student Science and Technology and an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto. Dr. Bass co-received the Nobel Prize in 2007 for his work on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Along with leading the development of the widely used research software COBWEB, Dr. Bass’ research regarding the environment, climate change and green infrastructure has been greatly influential.
Dr. Ayse Turak
Dr. Ayse Turak is an associate professor at McMaster University’s Department of Engineering Physics whose research focuses on easy, versatile, and inexpensive methods of tuning interfaces in organic/perovskite solar cells and light emitting diodes. Dr. Turak is currently a co-chair for the Society for Information Display and was a Marie Curie Fellow at the Max-Planck-Institute for Metals Research.
